Psalm 78:2-8 2I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, 3things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. 4We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. 5He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, 6that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, 7so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; 8and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
Vision:
To build and raise the next generation of Christians whose foundations and hope are in Jesus Christ.
Values:
1. Teaching: we believe that the primary way that children are taught to hope in God is through the Bible
2. Foundations: we believe that core truths of the Bible must be taught at an early age so that these children will move up into the youth group with a solid foundation
What we do:
1. Sunday morning worship (CanaanKids)
a. Every Sunday, we will engage in active worship of God through songs of praise, sermon, Bible study, and activities that will help our children better understand God and the Bible
b. WHEN: Sunday mornings at 11:30AM – 12:45PM
c. WHERE: Education Building 1st Floor
2. Friday night gatherings (NextGen)
a. On most Friday nights, we will use various methods to encourage, equip, and build our children to be young men and women whose faith is deeply rooted in the Gospel and Bible but also active in their lives:
i. Bible study
ii. Hands-on activity
iii. Wholesome entertainment
iv. Serving others
b. WHEN: Friday evenings at 7:00PM – 9:30PM
c. WHERE: Education Building 1st Floor
